Iron Range Cabins - Accommodation Lockhart River
The delightful, well appointed Iron Range cabins provide modern, clean and comfortable accommodation facilities welcoming both corporate and tourist visitors.
Conveniently located adjacent to the Lockhart River Airport, five kilometres from the Lockhart River Township the cabins enjoy a backdrop of the spectacular Kutimi Payamu (Iron Range National Park) providing the perfect starting place for those wishing to explore this beautiful region and the amazing flora and fauna that flourish within.
The cabins surround a welcoming communal BBQ area in a neat, well cared for garden area, a beautiful space to meet old friends, make new friends and watch the sun setting after a day at work or exploring the region.
Reflecting the fascinating history of the aerodrome (as it was known then), originally built and utilised by the US and Australian armed forces during World War II, each cabin bears the name of a USA bomber aircraft.
Accommodation Options
A range of cabin configurations is available. All our cabins are fully self-contained, well appointed and equipped for self catering. We also cater for handicapped visitors with a handicapped unit setup to meet your wheelchair and impaired mobility access requirements.

We have 10 modern studio cabins, which are all well appointed, self contained, clean, comfortable and cool.

Important Information
Reception Hours
Reception hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3pm Fridays (excluding public holidays)
Check-in / Check-out Times
Check-in is at 2.00pm unless otherwise arranged when making booking. Similarly cabins are to be vacated by 10.00am unless otherwise arranged.
Booking Terms
All room reservations must be guaranteed with credit card details. Payment options include cash, visa/mastercard, EFTPOS or direct debit only. All bookings secured with a credit card will be processed before check-in.
Cancellation Policy:
Due to our small size, remote location and heavy demand for accommodation, reservations cancelled at short notice affect us significantly. Therefore, notice of cancellation received within 7 days of check-in will incur a 100% cancelation fee for all nights that fall within that period.

Lockhart River Airport
The cabins are located adjacent to the Airport and only a short walk from the departure and arrival area.
Alcohol
Important: Please note that Iron Range Cabins are within the doggit zone. This means NO alcohol is permitted. See the Lockhart River Council Website for more details.
Facilities
Reception Facilities
Our reception sells basic items such as toiletries, snacks, drinks and souvenirs.
Restaurant / Food
Meals are available Monday to Thursday, see the News feed for weekly menus. All cabins are self contained and goods can be purchased from the local general store. There are no restaurants or cafés at Lockhart River.
Wifi Internet Access
Each guest may request a code for Wifi. Wifi is included in nighty price, however some cabins have limited Wifi access. Due to our location the Wifi and internet in the area in general is not very fast, but it will allow you to undertake basic tasks.
Laundry
We have coin operated washers and dryers ($1 coins only), an iron and ironing board for guest use. Washing powder is available to purchase from Reception.
BBQ Facilities
The cabins surround a welcoming communal BBQ area in a neat, well cared for garden area, a beautiful space to watch the sun setting in a golden orb over the airport and hills beyond.
Local Store
There is a general store in Lockhart River (5km) that sells most food and grocery items and fuel.
Car Hire
Car hire is available at the airport from the locally owned and run Lockhart River Car Hire.

Fuel Supply
Unleaded and diesel fuels are available by self-service from the Freddy Clarence Moses Store in Lockhart River, 7 days/week. 8am-6pm. Diesel for vehicles can also be purchased from the Airport from 8am to 5pm.
Council Warehouse
Council Stores are open to the public selling a range of hardware, building supplies, stationery, cleaning supplies, and Gas (LPG).
